Do something about Rahm and his developer friends – come to the April 2nd Assembly

March 14, 2016

Pilsen is in a defining moment, we can remain a working-class neighborhood or let corrupt politicians and special interest groups destroy its great heritage and diversity. Come and hear about the people’s plan and the alternative to Rahm and Solis plan to sell our community to big developers.

The Pilsen Alliance is launching an Affordability Plan for Pilsen after years of discussion and proposals to address gentrification to find a balanced development model. This community plan would allow Pilsen to remain a working class neighborhood and set an example across Chicago on how to battle segregation and promote diversity and inclusion along with sustainable development.

Come and learn about:

Property Tax exemptions, property tax appeals, foreclosure prevention, financial education, public housing options, tenants rights, and more!

Special guest: Commissioner Jesus “Chuy” Garcia

Panelists: Janet Smith & John Betancur (Urban planning experts)

Organizations participating: Metropolitan Tenant Organization (MTO), Lawyer’s Committee for Better Housing (LCBH), Latin United Community Housing Association (LUCHA), Chicago Housing Authority (CHA), among others.

Si se puede!
